I had our dealer install a water temperature gauge (not just a light and buzzer). It gives us a constant view of the health of our cooling system, and lets us know if there is a problem. Normally the water temperature doesn’t just suddenly spike, the water slowly gets hotter as the cooling system has a problem. Like any gauge, it is worthless unless you keep an eye on it. If I do my job, we hopefully can spot a cooling problem before we are too far off the coast. Just my $0.02.
