I had an interesting day on the water myself Sunday. I went to Lake Russell which is in the Corp of Engineers chain that lies between GA and SC. Between Lake Hartwell and Strom Thurmond/Clarks Hill to be exact. Apparently there is a 300 foot set back from the waters edge for building on the lake and there are no docks other than a few Corps docks at the ramps and such. Of the 20 boats we saw no more than 2 were pleasure boaters, the rest were bass fishermen. I've gotten used to dealing with the chop and lack of knowledge of rules of the road on the other lakes around here. This place was a dream, no chop from other boat wakes. Maybe a 4" chop from the wind all day. Lake is 15 to 20 miles long. Probably a fishermans paradise but I don't know much about that.

We'd all better make hay and get on the water while we can. Kids are back at school and it won't be long till it'll be too chilly to be comfortable to be on the water.
