The factory continues to use the black tar sealant but I have found Rule Elastomeric works best. Buy a countersink and add additional screws directly inbetween the old ones. Seat all screws with elastomeric as well.

Some have had to drill a drain hole in the low aft of the concavities if there is no drain hole or if it has gotten clogged in the past. It just draines to the bilge.
