I'm an older guy and fish in the great lakes. Had what I thought was a softer ride boat before the Triumph because it too was a 21' w, but had a motor mount that stood out 20" behind the boat, redistributing the weight to make a softer ride. Then came the Triumph. I can fish all day without my back hurting, even coming back in on the rough small wave chop of Lake St. Clair (very shallow and choppy). It's not necessarily the height of the waves that makes for a rough or smooth ride, but the frequency of the waves and the different directions that you are getting hit from. I am very happy with the ride that this "flexible" boat offers and would not go any other way... But, take a test drive for yourself and I think you will be happy with the results.
