It happens a lot ... If a Dealer won't sell you what you want, go elsewhere.
The local Triumph dealer only sells Mercury, but he has agreed to have an Evinrude mechanic install an E-tec for me ... keeping the customer happy is good for business because now i'll need to order a sounder/gps and a storm cover and, and, and
I have a 60hp E-tec with 140 hours on it and it is the best outboard I have ever owned. (after 2 Johnos, 2 Mercs, 1 Honda and a Suzuki)
My next motor will be a 75 E-tec on a 170DC
