#1 rated Customer Satisfaction by JD Powers is Honda and Suzuki in a tie.
That said, Suzuki usually is cheaper than Honda. E-Tec has a propriatory oil that is becoming more available and tend to be a tad bit lighter than 4 strokes.
Newer Mercury Optimax Saltwater motors are also good and lighter than E-tec. Yamaha has alot of service centers and tons of owners. It is hard to go wronge these days with motors untill you have a problem with one....all motors will fail, they are mechanical. Go for long warranty and convinient dealer that you trust and buy a service manual and change your own oil/spark plugs/impellars etc.
Good luck, Molar
PS I have had a Suzuki 4 stroke for 6 years and have had ZERO problems. I think two years ago I had to turn the ignition key more than once (twice actually) for it to start because I had it setting up for 6 months in the driveway over winter. I don't have a dealer for 300 miles!
