Center Console Safety Suggestion

While looking at pictures of 210’s and 215’s, it reminded me of a safety suggestion for our center consoles.

Triumph uses what I would call a spring-loaded draw latch as their console latch. These latches give us access to tilt-up dry storage, our batteries, electrical wiring, etc. If these latches should decide to snap open while in rough water or while traveling down the road at 60 mph, someone could get hurt and / or damage done to your boat.

We use a 2 3/8'' Sea Dog - Stainless Snap Hook on each latch to help us make sure that the top of the center console will not go flying backward. I suppose you could use any number of items; from piston snaps, trigger snaps, eye snaps, etc. None of are very expensive and their use could save some big dollars.
