I fish my 170 DC in less than 10 inches of water, with engine up and using the trolling motor and/or drifting on the flats it's unreal how shallow she'll fish, I love that $h#@!!

Saturday I took my son out and we slayed the redfish in skinny water. I'm just now getting to like this shallow water stuff. Back in San Diego I would have never imagined fishing in inches of water but now I'm getting into flats fishing. My problem is that the 170 is too small and if I'm gonna upgrade I want as much room as I can get thats why I'm still debating about a 215 or maybe even the new 235. The stats on the 215 say it'll draft in 12 inches of water, how shallow have you guys been in your boat? I know there are some cobia chasers out there, have you guys tested how shallow you can get?
I'd hate to buy another brand and have to deal with gel coat cracking and fading. The 19 foot triumph bay boat won't be big enough, so it's a 215 or another brand (bay boat). I'm hoping the 215 can fish pretty shallow.
Thanks!!
