I like the new boat. Definitly would be considering a "kicker" for trolling and as a back-up for offshore travels since only one big motor. I like the in floor fish boxes and the storage under the front seats might be insulated ice boxes as well....plenty of room for food and drink and smokers and hoo's. With modern motors, the trend is pushing for single engines due to great reliability and due to the increased weight....only have one engine in my truck but have OnStar and cell phone if I break down....and BoatUS, DSC, PEPRIB if on the water. We need SeaTow and BoatUS to cover farther distances in the Gulf and relay cell towers on top of oil platforms for easy 100 mile coverage. Think it is only 25 miles now....not good. Gets you only to about 100' water if your lucky.
SKA, this boat will work and in the class of 23 under, there are plenty of weekend warriors running singles and they will be getting to the fishing grounds late even with twins compared to the 36' cc's with triple 300's.
Initially they considered designing an engine bracket for twins but dropped that idea. Depending on the size of the gas tank, a single may give you more range anyway.
This can be a real deal if loaded with a 300hp Zuk, al trailer with ss disc brakes, tee top etc for @50k.....they'll sell plenty but if they try to go head to head with the above mentioned brands in Procon's reply, only the die hard current Triumph owners might move up. I feel Triumph should be priced comparatively to Angler boats. How much is Triumph willing to back tournament fishermen and people who use their product with success? A few headlining winners of some tournaments and people will start getting interested.
The baitwell in leaning post will be nice for some folks, is that the only livewell? An ice chest/tackle station would be a great option with the livewell in the transome for some others. Sure can't wait to see one at the dealer and check out all the hatches and attention to detail. I would have thought a bow pulpit with anchor would be standard but sure it will be available.
So, it is nice and I would like one but.... the wife and child and now....my newest addition to the family due in September want a galley, shower/head, beds etc... so I maybe looking for a mothership.
Congratulations to Triumph and their development team!
