Thumbs down Hull Warranty

The day I received shipment of my 2005 191 F/S, I filled out the paperwork and sent a $300 check to transfer the hull warranty. I made sure it was there in the 15 day period deadline and provided all documentation required.

I just received a call this morning from the factory stating that because my boat was used for a year as a rental boat with their own rental company they cannot transfer the Lifetime hull warranty into my name. I was told by the Truimph dealer that sold me the boat that there would be no problem with Truimph in the transfer, but I may not be able to extend my Yamaha warranty due to the boat being used as a rental. The boat was sold via Truimph's own rental company and they still will not extend it. The person at the factory this morning said he had to do some research to find out they would not transfer it. How does the average boat buyer know the facts if the factory warranty people have to do research to come to that conclusion?

I know many people buy Triumphs via the Triumph Boat Rentals company and I don't want anyone else to be misinformed and disappointed after the fact. So much for the new boat warm and fuzzies and feeling good about the support from the company that made your boat.
