I have a 170 DC with a bait well similar to the 170 CC: it has the pump with the switch, it has the drain on the transom, but, where does it pickup from? I looked at the back and there are only four holes: two drains, the sump pump outlet (way above the water line), and the bait well drain. I looked under the boat and can't see any holes there (unless it is covered by the trailer bunks...). So, where does it pick up the water? And is the valve in the bait well the only place to close it? I was hoping to plug it when I don't need it. Right now I try to schedule a freshwater trip after each saltwater outing and run the pump for a while to clear the salt from the system, but would prefer not to have to do that. The Triumph owner's manual does not mention anything about how to rinse the bait well system after a saltwater trip. Any suggestions?
