Rigging tubes

In the latest issue of Bassmaster mag there is an article on rigging tubes ( weedless) that is pretty neat. You take a 3/0 Kahle hook and crimp and epoxy a 1/8 oz split shot to the shank of hook near the eye. you can tread the hook point thru the tube opening and come out about 1/4 " from tube head. Rotate hook so the eye of the hook and the split shot is at the front of tube in the body of tube. Punch eye thru the tube head and then bury the hook point in the rear of the tube. Works great and is perfectly weedless. This is an option to having the hook exposed or for using a bullet weight on the outside of the tube before the tube. Some pros feel that bass are sometimes shy of the bullet weight and the hook exposed. They also trim the tentacles? much shorter. This also works for tube fishing in saltwater but in my experience if the fish are there in saltwater they'll eat anything! Its just a matter of finding the fish which is not all that easy to do!
