I have a 2006 170DC equipped with a Yamaha 60hp 4 stroke and love it. I've had 4 adults in the boat cruising the lake and it ran well with ample room for everyone. I only fish two in the boat and there is plenty of room for both of us to fish without interfering with each others casting.

If you are using it mostly to ride around in with only a little fishing I would recommend considering the bow rail, especially if the kids are small. I would also recommend a bimini top, rear seat back rests, and a swim ladder.

If you’re planning on pulling the kids on skis or a tube, consider the 75hp motor.
