Two words...test drive! Take the boat for a run and see how it performs. Really put it through it's paces. Then you'll know if it has enough power for what you want. I wouldn't worry about keeping it in the water year around...I would make sure I had a backup bilge pump installed running from a seperate battery just in case you get a failure during a heavy rainstorm. A cover would also be a must have item to help shed the rain. Good luck with your search.
