I own an 07 170dc which is the same hull and weight as the cc. I have the 75 yamaha 4 stroke and it sits fine in the water. With full fuel tank it will run on gps at 47 mph and only me in boat. That is pretty fast for a little boat and feels very safe even at that speed. The only drawback that I find is that you need to make sure the trim is all the way down are you will get some bow rise. In my opinion I would not buy any motor that has that much different technology until it has been thoroughly field tested over a 5 year period by real owners and not someone looking to sale it. I felt the same way the first three years that they introduced four strokes. In saying that the 3 people I know that have them are satisfied so far with the etech. The only maintenance that they have needed is new spark plugs even though Evenrude says it needs no maintenance for 3 years. But which ever way you go you will be happy with the triumph.
