My baitwell pump has a ballcock to shut of intake of water. If yours does not, then plug the transom intake when not using the livewell. Also I wanted to advise that the livewell pump leaks water even if it is not turned on. As soon as I get 20 hours on my boat i'll take it in for it's first service and ask about the livewell leakage.
ps baitwell = livewell

Dennis,
Your livewell pump should not leak water into your boat. That's something that should be fixed. My 2003 170CC has a seperate drain dedicated just for the livewell and it drains out the transom next to the intake. If your drain is dumping into your bilge then have that checked also. Sounds like maybe a couple of loose connections in your plumbing. Just some thoughts.
