Took on the Albemarle Sound This Weekend!

It wasn't our first time boating on the Albemarle Sound, but it WAS the first time in our new Triumph 215CC! We had planned it a month ago, so even with the bad weather coming in, we put up our curtains and headed out from Holiday Island.

It was a cold breeze, and seas were about 2 - 3 feet. We tooled around a bit in the open to see how she'd handle in following, beam, and head seas. NICE! Wave spray was deflected out the sides, giving us a dry ride, and the head seas were softer in the plastic boat. Of course, we weren't going WOT either out there - we're not into launching boats into the air.

Today was raining hard, but with curtains we were up for another adventure. However, we decided to respect the Albemarle on a gusty day, as there were large breaking waves pounding into the channel. If the channel weren't directly under attack, we still would have gone out just a little ways to practice some big seas handling so we'd be better prepared for when we get caught some day.

Anyway, it handled like a dream. Sweet boat!
