No, I have a Honda 150 VTEC with a few tweaks to the lower unit and some other areas along with a 3 bladed SS prop so I can't compare yours to mine really, but the important part and only constant all engines have is what are you getting RPM wise at WOT?

Most engines are looking to run in the 5500 to 6500 range at WOT (best to check with your manual) and if you are not getting such, than you have too much pitch and need to back it off some.

The BMS cavitation plate though will really help you get launched as well as provide some extra stern lift to help offset the lack of HP with the 90. Just remember that after installing the BMS plate you will have to re-learn your engine trim habits again so you do not add any extra drag on the top end by adding more engine trim than what is really needed
