Not long after I purchased my Triumph, bought it used last year, I had water in the oil. My boat is a 2003 but it has a 1999 Suzuki DF60. I figured it was a head gasket and checked around for prices on the repair. After hearing quotes of at least $1000.00 I bought a $62.00 manual and started turning wrenches. I have worked on my own cars and trucks for years. Nice thing about these four strokes is that once you pull the powerhead off, it is just like a car motor. Anyway, pulled the powerhead off, then tackled the head and found that I had a small hole corroded around the #4 piston. The motor was obviously run in alot of salt and not cleaned very well. Had a shop weld up the hole, cleaned all the old salt out of the motor and have had no problem since. This repair took me about 8 hours, being careful, and cost me less than $200.00.
