Ok folks, I just thought I would chime in on this thread. When I recieved my 04 Triumph 210, I had elected to keep my Honda 130 that I had on my 2000 Logic. While I was never overwhelmed with the performance of this engine, it did get me were I wanted to go and was very reliable. That is until one faithful day last summer, when heading offshore I got 3 seconds of an overheat warning buzzer and boom. As it turnedout, my impeller blew and hence the motor was gone.

So to the point, I decided to upgrade motors and went with a new Honda 150. All I can say is wow, the performance of this motor is outstanding, great power and response time at the throttle, something rather important here in Texas waters since we deal with square seas all the time (3 foot by 4 secs on average).

Sorry again I am yaking away without geting to the point, Since red snapper season has opened, I have made 3 runs offshore, each time I go, I am running anywhere from 120 to 150 miles for a round trip. Last weekend, I took my neighbor whom was willing to pay for 1/2 the fuel (the guy knows how to get a repeat trip). Anyways as we came back in and hit our local marina, he hands me a 100 dollar bill and said here is my half. I laughed and asked him if he was planning paying for the whole day? As after running 143 nautical miles, per the GPS we took on a total of 36 gallons ($112 total). This works out to just under 4 mpg. Now this was in moderate seas where optimal crusing speed was not possible.

On sunday, I repeated the trip with my significant other, the water was smooth 1-2 footer hence with trim tabs down we would cruise at 25 knots out and tabs up and 26 knots back. Plus we were drifting over a wreck all day hence the motor was left in running for hours since we would drift and run back over the wreck. This done instead of anchoring since several boats where working the same spot. In anycase, the motor ran for 10 hours total, and went 137 nau. miles, and upon returning we took on 39 gallons. So to say I am happy with my Honda 150 hanging on my 210 is a slight understatment! Oh I should mention full snapper limts each day!

Cheers
