Joeygumbo,
You are making a number of assumptions in your last post based on the comment of one member of this site, not the management of it. This
is a site for Triumph Owners. It is not a factory site; it is not a promotional arm of Triumph or any dealer. Of course you can bring up problems you are having with your boat. The only thing I have
EVER asked any member of this site is that it not be used to slam the reputation of any person or company. I have stepped in a couple of times when negative posting became ranting in my opinion (I pay the bills, I make the decisions), which I find counter productive. If someone needs to vent I suggest a punching bag, go fishing instead or start their own website. From the beginning I have welcomed and encouraged the participation of owners, dealers and Triumph factory folk because I believe it is the collaborative sharing of information and building of an online community that will benefit us all in the development of these boats. I have also consistently pointed out to people that if you have a problem with your boat contact your dealer first. Your Triumph Dealer is your link to Triumph Boats. This is true for most businesses. Don't bypass your dealer unless you get no satisfaction from them. If you don't by all means contact Triumph directly. But I have found a couple of people over the past couple years that no one could possibly satisfy or make happy in this life who took great pleasure apparently in being divisive. Sorry, but the Bible tells me to steer clear of people like that. There is no up side with them.
So to recap, keep it positive; contact your dealer and build a working relationship with them; if you have to, contact Triumph Tech support; and by all means post your questions and concerns here but don't make sweeping generalizations about a product line or a company. I am forwarding this thread to Triumph to make them aware of this discussion. As you said, the company needs to know if there are issues in the marketplace. Ideally they would be getting this information from their dealer network who learned of it from customer concerns. But we can certainly pass it on. Just remember that we are a group of owners sharing information about how we've modified or setup our boats. We are
not connected directly with Triumph and are
not their warranty service or marketing site. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings about the purpose of this website. Glad you are a part of it.
