It is completely normal, I drift fish over wrecks in the Gulf of Mexico constantly and yes boats will spin on their stern in a current. It does not matter what make you have. This is why most boats are set up to fish from the rear. The only thing I do now, since my triumph seems to spin so quickly, is turn her to the side I want.
