We did not have the canvas on that day but mananged to stay pretty dry on the way out. When we got out there the wind was houling so it blew a bunch of water on us when it was coming from the side. The boat has a very nice "carolina flair" that I think you will find very apealing if you fish in rough water. It really does cut through the waves. The 235 is a deep V design that cuts through, rather than bouncing off the waves. As far as the downriggers go I am putting on two Penn Fathom masters on the back. I would strongly recomend gettin the 3 foot arm if you do the same. The only problem with putting them on is that you can't fish the rear rod holders when you have the downrigger on the mount. To fix that problem I am having two more rod holders (a total of 3 rod holders on each gunnel) installed. I am also getting 3 flat line clips put on across the back. If you guys have never fished flat lines before install some before you fish next. It is the cheapest way to avoid tangles and improve the "prop wash" bite. I hope you have a good test drive. I know you will if the boat treats you as well as it has treated me.
