Have a Todd adjustable heigth leaning post on my 170 CC. New 2002. Take the cooler/seat out of your boat to give you a clean deck to work. Set the new unit in place where you think it should go

Then walk around it for a couple of days to see how everything fits. A skinny guy may want to be closer to the wheel. Me, I needed more room plus room behind the leaning post to attend to mooring lines, fish, etc.

Put your leaning post where you want it.

Good luck with your project. My Todd gave me more storage and rod holders on a small boat. Most of my operating experience is standing/ leaning with the shock of waves and wakes going to my legs.
