190 bay conduit filling with water
On my new 190 bay I am having an issue with water overflowing into the conduit that my power cable run from my battery to the console. The conduit is about 2-3 inches in diameter on the rear starboard side. I called Triumph customer service and explained that it looks like the conduit was cut to low and should have been cut off a few inches higher. I felt like he agreed with me but said it should be fine to have water standing in the conduit even though the power lines are ran through it. He said he did not think it was worth a 5-6 hour job by adding and extension on the end of the conduit. I don't want to come off sounding like a complainer but this is my first boat and that just doesn't sound right to me. I work with electricity at work and I know that water and power don't mix, even if the cables are marine grade.
This first time boat owner needs a little help determining what to do next? Any ideas how I can easily extend the conduit or how to handle speaking with Triumph on what I feel is a warranty issue?
Thanks
