Cornado islands bonnie bite 4/3/05

Headed out about 7:00am, towards the islands for bonnies. Hopeing to get Sluesters FARTHER - INLAW on the take. We get just inside of Puky point, looking at the meter >>>>>> looks bad. Its new And I do not know how to play with it yet. 582L furuno. Anyway thats a different story. Well, went to grab the trolling rods, Only to find one has no line??????????????? left the reel in neutral, I guess the wind did the rest. Go figure. Thank goodness for multible rods. Well we trolled for nada.....finally got the fish finder down; well sort of. Metered some goodies at the bottom. But got only hit once....we decide to run over to OUTLAW, he was near the south end of the north island, so the Sluester can get his tackle, and light gear. They had landed 2 bonnies. We then trolled towards south island just on the west side of bird rock, got our first hook up on the black and purple rapala. That little 8lber kicked Sluester's father in law ( Jim ).!! too funny.

we began again 1 minute later 2nd hook up, gave it
back to jim......Boy he was sweatin then.

way...........funny to watch him work that fish. Sluester as ALLWAY"S a trooper to be reckon with....on the ball with cleaning the decks between hits. We then made sure both rods had the B&P rapalas. then continued to troll towards the south Island, by this time 4 sporties were movin in on us....too funny, but we continued untill we landed 10 bonnies from 8 - 13 lbs digital then we escorted outlaw back to the dock, he was running low on fuel.
