with a single side console and two tandem pedestal seats on port side. I am over 6' tall and even with the seat adjusted all of the way back, I am constantly bashing my knees on the console while I am getting in and out of the helm seat. I don't know if there is more space between the helm and console on the 170, but may be something to consider. The boat handles great in all conditions. On the 4th I had a load of three 12 year old and two adults and felt comfortable, although a bit tight. The hull handles waves and ship wake on the Columbia River fine. I have had waves over the bow and gotten a little wet, but the boat seems not to care. As most of the other 150 owners have stated, I would like more room, not necessarily for additional passengers, but for the crap that I always seem to carry around. A 170 would be a great choice with either the center console or with both consoles. Check out this review on BoatTest.com.
