swim ladder, transom saver, ball check scuppers
Did a search to try and find specific posts i remembered regarding these topics ,but there were just too many to read through. So , I will do a quick show and tell regarding these as they pertain to a 210/215.
The swim platform one step ladder provided on the 01 model was just not an option with this new knee---now that I think about ,I was more tired after climbing up and down working on the boat than a full day of fishing. Also when stored it would deflect water and was bad about coming loose and "plowing" the ocean.
I had seen another owner do this mod and was gonna add my install pics as a way of thanking him ,but i could not find the thread. now i got to get one of those sweet hand rails i recently saw and i will be set. i would think this 3 step model would enable a diver to board as well
I had half of an old transom saver laying around and after hammering the handle of an old screwdriver into the end ,i was able to make it work on the 210 trailer.
it fits snugly between the flanges of the motor lower unit and the screwdriver is long enough to keep it from coming off at the trailer end
i also got the new rabud ball check scuppers put on and not nary a drop of water entered the splash well areas while i tested the boat yesterday..
I would recommend anyone with the t-h models that have water issues to pull them and check to see if the area where the ball is to seat against is worn/deformed from use. the rabuds only have a 1" drain opening ,however being smaller they dont slam and rattle as much as the others . and should i take on alot of water on the deck from a wave, i have a large access door i can open and let the bilge pump handle it
