I also had boxes that strapped down. They are about as useful as you-know-what on a bull. The fact that the tie downs are plastic makes them even less than worthless in trying to hold down a 40 pound battery. The plastic ties under my console broke the first year I owned my boat. Later I just tossed the battery boxes. What use are they in a plastic boat anyway? The only thing they do is hold water when you forget to put in your bilge plugs.

Triumph is too cheap to put in a proper floor to the battery compartment and decent tie downs that can stand up to the stress of a bouncing battery. Maybe you should complain to them about their crappy design.
