Play with your trim when you're trying to max out the rpm's. If you've got it tucked in to the stern it will not reach it's max rpms. Try tilting the engine up a little at a time as you reach the highest rpms that you normally get to. See if it will rev a little higher. Less boat in the water = less drag. RPMS may climb a little. Try it on flat water only. Good luck.
