Motor well drains

The hoses that hook to the drains in the motor well on my 170CC make the bilge area virtually inaccessible. I can't get my skinny arm in to pull my baitwell pump motor for testing.
I can see where the hoses from the drains join at a T and there is a hose exiting the T heading down out of sight into the bilge. Does it tie into the drain hole at the bottom of the transom? The hoses feel llike they are heavy duty (two hose clamps and sealant on every fitting) and do not flex much so I'd like to replace them and get them rerouted to allow access. They also rise above the level of the bottom of the motor well drain fitting and trap water and allow buildup of sediment in the hoses.

Anybody have the same problem? Is it wise to replace these hoses with more flexible and longer ones?
