Similar to Cargrove's previous post, I was tired of the live well leaking while up on plane and finding that my bait well had little or no water left in it after making a run between spots.
I made a few modifications for about $35 and now my live well problems are over.
I started by purchasing a bracket for $20 that mounts to the live well pickup and will act as a high-speed pickup so that I can keep circulating water while up on plane. It only took 5 minutes to install didn't require drilling into the hull.
I bought some self-adhesive weather-stripping from Home Depot and used that to form a gasket around the live well to keep from splashing.
I also bought a couple of plastic hinges and some SS screws for less than $10 so that I could attach the lid directly to the boat. Not only is this more convenient out on the water, but there have been a couple of times when I trailered the boat and noticed that the lid came loose and was sliding around somewhere in the boat. Now I don't have to worry about losing the lid or taking it out of the boat when I take it to and from the boat ramp.
