I bought this bought 4 years ago and it sat around for a couple of years before I decided to put the bracket. The 21 was the largest roplene boat made then. The bracket provides me with a bit more room and function. I had another boat I was using and I finally got fed up with fiberglas and went back to completing the 21CC. The Aluminum reinforcing box I used to replace the splashwell is a 100 ties stronger than the roplene structure that I cut out and it is completely bonded and sealed in place to the the hull and to the bracket. I even have a lid on top and use the compartment to mount my hydraulic pump for the jackplate. I plugged the scuppers as they were all but ineffective anyway. (more water came in then went out) Most small boats do not sit high enough above the waterline for effective scuppers. That's what bilge pumps are for. I also installed a drainplug in the bottom of the hull that selfdrains if the pumps fail. One note. I had a 25' cat and if they ever make a Roplene Cat I will buy it no matter how much it costs. I've owned over 30 boats from 18' to 36', all offshore use and the cat design is far away the best. I'm just sick of maintaining fiberglas. Sorry for the long post.

I am a long post kind of guy myself too. I do have to agree with the scupper comment you made. Unless the boat has some serious scuppers they never really work right. I have been contemplating adding another bilge pump to my boat also. I have had a couple times when the extra bilge would have really gone a long way. I will be really interested to know how the boat performs and reacts to the new transom and motor. Please keep us posted on the progress of it. I have worked on all sorts boat projects with friends from bracketed singles and triples to diesels, but this one is really cool and different. I am a big fan of the wiring concept you are using on this boat also.
