Smiley,

Currently I'm running a 14x19 Solas prop. I have tried several different sizes of Solas and Yamaha and as of now this is the best all around.

I can top out at 40/42 mph with all my gear and 3 folks. But I only turn 5400 rpm. Folks supposedly in the know and Yamaha say I should be able to turn 6000!

No matter what prop I have tried I have never exceeded 5600 and @ 5600 my fuel economy and top speed went down. This is not my first outboard and I am beginning to believe Yamaha has overstated the RPM.

I range from 3.7 to 4.10 mpg per tankful depending on the sea conditions.

I really believe the boat will perform better with a prop that has a lot of bow lift.

I'm looking around I would like to try a 13.75 x 19 4 blade prop. I think this might be the ticket.

Thanks for the reply.
