Are Your Seats Too Low?

After several years of using my 2002 170 bass, I noticed that my knees and back had a tough time on the boat. It turned out that the drivers seat was so low that my butt was lower than my knees when I was seated. Every time I got up, I was placing too much stress on my knees and back.

I solved the problem by purchasing a higher seat pedistal. The OEM seat pedestal base was manufactured by Todd Marine Products and is only 8" high. I purchased an identical replacement pedistal from WestMarine that is 12" high. It is not only a perfect fit, my knees and back do not bother me any more. As far as the passenger seat, They have more room to move around and get up so I did not incur the expense of a higher pedistal.
