I feel for you BayC as I too have had the recurring crack issue with Triumph passing the buck to the dealer whom has yet to be able to repair for more than a couple of outings, multiple times. I have been referred to RoughWater Marine and they are really nice folks but unable to succeed in hull repairs as I am assured by Triumph they are qualified, trained and have the equipment and expertese.
In the past, J...B.... at Triumph cust serv. would take over, pick up the boat and fix it at the factory if the local dealer failed. Now it is seemingly more of a referral to somewhere else. Which ideally, would be fine if it was working out.
Sounds like the newer models have very few hull problems which is good for Triumph and owners as they have learned from mistakes and will make an increasingly great product. But what good is the "LIFETIME WARRANTY" if a warranty issue never comes to completion?
The strength of this site is the honesty of the members and the response of Triumph to warranty issues. I really think they are trying. In good faith, I am going in for my 4th hull crack repair soon at $2.90/gallon gas from Birmingham to Pascagoula, MS and back x 2 (1200 miles/22hrs)! (@$552 in fuel/auto exp) So, we all have money and time invested in "warranty repairs", the owner, Triumph and the dealer/repairer.
Factory fix the crack and sell with disclosure and transferrable warranty as buyer's option strongly encouraged. Or keep and live with it. Rule has repaired my crack longer than the dealer's $3,000 machine.
They could only get better with time, right? haha
