Dave, I purchased the "Standard" anchor bracket. That gave me a total of six bolts through the hull in two separate locations (3 in each). It also sits closer to the stern, which I hope means less torque on the boat when using the pole as an anchor.

I also purchased a tan 12 ft pole. It cost a little more than the 10 foot pole, but I have a 12 ft ceiling in part of my garage so I can store it with no problems. I am hoping that the extra length will make polling just a little easier.
