There is a plastic tube that runs from the console to the transom,there should be a white nylon looking cord sticking out at the console, and at the transom. I had to reach from the battery location, under where the gas hose runs, to find it. But it is there! I, and everyone else I've read about here had a hard time finding it, just keep looking.
Be sure that before you fish your cables through, that you tie a piece of fishing line to them, so you can pull the nylon cord back, for the next time you need it.
