Fatigue cracks

That’s a fatigue crack. It’s caused by pulling on the bow eye.

I never pull the boat on the trailer. I motor as far up as possible and pull up the last inch while some of the boat is still floating. That way, you don’t put such a strain on the bow eye and surrounding area.

In the Triumph owners manual, it states that when you arrive home, you should loosen the bow eye strap and rear tie downs to reduce the strain on these parts.

Triumph really should make a larger backing plate to spread the load.

The hole below the bow eye is suspicious too. I own a 17 footer and there is no hole right below the bow eye. The hole may have weakened the surrounding area.
