mine is a 2000 210CC also, even though I thought it was a 2001 I have since learned it is a 2000 based on the serial number! Anyway I also experience the gas smell in my console area where the batteries are, and remember others with the same issue. probably best to keep console cracked a bit to vent during storage, however I never have to be honest and not had a problem. it is a mild gas smell and seems like most of us have it. would be interested to hear Triumphs response to it however.
it probably comes into the console area thru the holes for the wiring in the bottom of console area and then gets trapped because there is no vent on top of the console area.
don't usually smell gas in mega hatch area though, usually just smells like mildew in there since it always has a bit of water in it.

Il logic Al, I'd like to see a picture of your Mega hatch floor, am thinking of doing the same thing.
