Before you do that, do you plan on fishing out of the front of the boat and maybe mounting a trolling motor? While there are a few models on the market that you can use with a bow rail, the majority would require either modifying the rail or could not be used at all with the rail in place.

If you don't plan on fishing and use the boat for cruising/tubing/etc. the a bow rail would be a fine addition. However, when I bought my 170CC, that was the first thing I changed. It came with the high rail and I traded it for the grab rails. Most of the time the high rail was just in the way. Getting in and out of the front was much more difficult and anchoring was a pain.

Either way you decide to go, congrats on the new boat. You made a very good choice.
