Just make sure that your meter is set to DC not AC and your switch is in the on position. This will give you many more options if your wiring is switch/positive based. I will assume that since you are hooking up a gauge you are going to need it to only come on during Motor Operation. This is where you are going to want to look for a feed wire that only has power on it when the ign-switch is in the run/on position. I have my GPS like this so that I do not forget to turn the screen off. Your pumps will be on a toggle switch that will have DC power on the line side at all times unless there is a MAIN disconnect switch to all of your Batt-Powered Accessories!
