Battery Dilemma
I purchased my 2005 Bay 190 in April. The seller didn't have a good idea of what all was included on the boat. Long story short, the boat came with a n engine mounted Minn Kota trolling motor. The trolling motor was hooked-up to a 12 volt deep cycle battery. When I tested the trolling motor, the boat just didn't move. My first thought was a low battery; however the battery tested just fine.
I contacted Minn Kota with the serial number of the motor and it turns out it is a 36 volt motor with 105# of thrust. I can't for the life of me figure out where I am going to put 3 12v deep cycle batteries, along with one starting battery.
I just may be better off removing the trolling motor and getting a new one mounted on the bow.
Any opinions/suggestions?
Chris
