If it is "Marine Grade" sealant, it will say so on the packaging. By stating "Marine Grade", it means it is able to be used for applications where there is constant exposure to water. Many sealants are made to just be exposed to water for a short time (like a rain shower) and may break down if constantly wet. Any type of sealant that states it is "Marine Grade" should work for your BMS stab plate...however, use only Rule (Sudbury) Elastomeric Sealant on the boat itself. That's the only stuff that will reliably stick to the Roplene.
