Hi John. I checked with the factory for you on this and here is their response:

The parts are sealed as well as screwed down. The 2 main things to

1. Sealing - which it sounds like you have covered. Make sure
you use RULE Elastomeric Marine Sealant, and

2. do not exceed your transom engine weight (256kg.) that includes the primary motor, kicker bracket
and kicker motor. The transom is a sandwich of Ropelene and high density 20lbs foam. The thickness of the Ropelene varies depending on where you are drilling but averages in the neighborhood of 1 to 1.5cm.
each side. Also to get better access to the inner transom wall you can remove the grayish white starboard piece that the 6" access plate in sitting in.
