sixshooter,
i havent done this yet. i am aware of only 1 boat ever having the gas tank come loose from the brackets and that owner was shall i say a tad rougher a boater than most of us will ever be. he also had connections to get things done for him that we dont as well ,so i actually consider him a really bad exception to the rule. however the guys at merritt either did or advised him how reinstall the fuel tank and bracing as well.

i am thinking about adding another s.s bar as we have on top of the tank and attach it midway down on the rear of the tank or put some wood boards from the splashwell back to the tank. i havent finished redoing the bilge plumbing yet, so i will be getting in touch with dick at MM once i get all my hoses sorted out. you can appreciate how little room we 01 guys have in our bilge areas and i will have to pull the livewell deck plate up to get a drain hose up to the front of the livewell.
