In my tank there is a rubber drain plug in the center of the bottom of the tank that goes in to fill and out to drain, I think that’s a later model thing with the70gal gas tank. It drains overboard there is also a overflow about 7/8ths of the way up the side that allows the tank to fill to a point and maintain that level while water is being continually pumped in. I’ve covered this with a half of a pipe so as to draw the water up from the bottom of the tank instead of just skimming the top off, this also drains overboard both drains attach to the same thru hull fitting in the bilge. Judging from what I’ve read if your boat has the 85gal gas tank your set up will be different but exactly how I’m not really sure, I cant imagine a “bait tank” without an overflow that would allow a constant flow of water but then in So. Cal. we base a lot of our fishing around live bait and I tend to forget that our love of sardines, anchovies, mackerel and live squid is the exception not the rule. The fitting in my tank is a garden hose thread to ¾” pvc slip connector then a stub of pvc to the 90 its been awhile but I believe that’s how it went.
Good Luck
