Wink Trolling motor electrical receptacle

Has anyone had any problems with the electrical receptacle on the 190 Bay that you plug the trolling motor into? I have a 54 lb. Great White Saltwater motor on mine that keeps intermittently stopping and restarting by itself. I've pretty much eliminated any other source of the problem but the marina can't find any obvious corrosion, etc. that might cause this. Or has anyone had this problem with a Motorguide motor? I love the motor (although if I had it to do over again I'd get the 82 lb. one) but can't fish the flats here in Key West without it and I no longer trust it to keep me from running aground. Also what do you put on the motor's plug to slow down the corrosion? I keep scraping it off with a file each time I go out. Pretty soon I won't have a plug left.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

MM
