If you are talking about a "Chart Light" type then this is what I use (kind of)

Mine though just plugs right into the lighter outlet and has a flexible shaft so I can tie on a new jig or crank bait, make a phone call, etc. without out totally killing my night vision. I also have one of those LED headband lights (even has a red bulb) that also comes in real handy at night or early morning when I am hooking up the boat

If you need more light, then I would also look at one of your local off road shops for a Jeep fog light (12 VDC) or something like it that you make a clamp on mount for. Here again, a trip to Lowe's and Home Depot might come in real handy for the Clamp Engineering parts
