Use fluorocarbon as backing instead of mono. Fluorocarbon doesn't hold water and it wont rot-out like mono. This is especially a good thing when you are spooled up with braids on your reels for years. Also if your using braids/superlines check out Gamma fluorocarbon for leaders. It has twice the flex and shock resistents of regular fluorocarbons, which is real good thing when using no-stretch braids. I'm a die-hard Seaguar and Ande floro user and the Gamma line has been working out really good on my braided outfits.
